At all times OpenVPMS will only collect the information we need for the particular function or activity we are carrying out.
Generally, we collect an individual’s personal information from that individual. For example, we may collect information from you when you complete our Commercial Account Application Form, or when you provide us with information, whether in person, by telephone, online or in writing. If you submit an order (including by telephone or online), we will collect information necessary to fulfil that order.
However, occasionally we may also collect personal information from someone other than the individual, for example from any other organisation with which you have had any dealings, or which you have nominated to act as trade referee, or from publicly maintained records.
We may also collect contact details and some other personal information if you are on our Newsletter Mailing list or subsequent mailing list for promotions/advertising.
We take all reasonable steps to keep secure any personal information which we hold about you and to protect your personal information from loss, misuse or unauthorised alteration. Any personal information you provide to us is stored on secure servers. Access to personal information is limited to those of our personnel who specifically need it to carry out their business responsibilities. We use Google Analytics to collect data about your interaction with our website. Google Analytics is hosted by a third party. The sole purpose of collecting your data in this way is to improve your experience when using our site. The types of data we collect with these tools include:

We use Mailchimp to manage our mailing lists and event registrations.

We use social networking services such as Facebook and YouTube to communicate with the public about our work. When you communicate with us using these services we may collect your personal information, but we only use it to help us to communicate with you and the public. Unless expressly authorised to do so by the relevant User, Vertical Connect will not disclose any User’s personal information to any third party except where (a) the disclosure relates to the purposes for which the information was collected (as stated above); (b) Vertical Connect believes in good faith that it is required to do so by law; or (c) that third party is a Related Company of OpenVPMS and is involved in the provision of the OpenVPMS Website, OpenVPMS application or Services to Users. To ensure that the personal information we collect is accurate, up-to-date and complete we:
- record information in a consistent format
- where necessary, confirm the accuracy of information we collect
- promptly add updated or new personal information to existing records
